How ISO Certification Helps Your Business Meet Targets

New Year, New Goals

For many, yesterday was the first working day of 2022. As many of us may have used our bank holiday to set personal goals, similarly, business leaders and their staff head back to the office to set targets and plan for the year ahead. However your company sets its goals, one thing is for sure, continual improvement is key to a successful business and to hitting those targets.

Speaking of continual improvement, it is actually a subclause if ISO 9001:2015. Continual improvement is an ongoing effort to improve an organisation’s products, services and/or processes. What is ISO 9001 you may ask? In this blog, we will break ISO down and share how it can help your company meet targets this year to help you reduce costs, increase productivity and profitability.

Let’s Talk ISO Certification

ISO stands for the International Organisation for Standardisation. They are an international non-governmental, independent organisation that develops standards to ensure the quality, safety, and efficiency of products, services, and systems. There are approximately 22,000 different ISO standards, all of which cover various industries. ISO 9001, the standard for Quality Management Systems is one of the most popular and ensures the quality of products and services. The standard ensures a strong customer focus which in turn helps improve customer satisfaction.

The Process of Becoming ISO Certified

Once you have a Management System built and implemented by a consultant, a third-party certification body such as Swift Certification will contact you to discuss your audit plan, answer any questions you have and ensure you have got all the information you need.

You will have an initial stage one assessment, which is to review the practices you already have in place and identify the areas that require improvement or change in order to achieve your certificate. Our auditors will then issue a full report highlighting the areas to work on before the next step.

Once you are ready, we will review the changes you have made and see if you have met the requirements of the ISO standard you have chosen. Our auditor will then highlight any further areas for improvement.

As part of the ISO certification, you are required to have an annual surveillance visit to ensure you have maintained compliance.
